I can list them...
Someone please list the SW stores that did 'lay-offs' since Jan 04. TY
Those let go were full timers if at least 10k service hours...many actually cried when leaving...one dude even grabbed a case of beer and dated someone to stop him from taking it....STL hid in storage closet ....
Who we're they? Seasonals, full-timers, regional? Seriously...give some detail.
SW here...we lost 5 on Monday
Probably seasonals were let go in SW. Anyone want to verify?
We didn't lose anyone today.
Which sw stores
SW region took hits at 9 stores...22 jobs lost total today!
Nothing for the day. Most stores are still reeling.
@aii you are mean
@FhwFpdW-kcr Right on the money.
Well what's probably going to happen is Attrition. Meaning, everyone who's been skating by being tardy, absent, or whatever not following the schedule or not performing up to any kind of specific documented standard, or getting a customer upset will be written up and held 'accountable' until they're fired. They're going to start writing up any FT people who they want to get rid of. Then, when the hiring freeze ends (will it?), we can get some PT folks up in here. Easy fix for costly labor problem. Plus, any rational person still working in this messed-up atmosphere will want to leave, so two birds with one stone.
I think anyone not pulling their weight should go, all the way, but it's obvious something's up when you see people who have been getting away with stuff for YEARS, all the sudden it's a big deal when it hasn't been for so long. And honestly it's not the end of the world if someone is ten minutes late for a shift, if they're selling stuff and making customers happy they've appeared to have been worth it.
Meanwhile leadership has their door closed all dam day and no one can ask them anything without them getting defensive and they'll continue to not pull their weight but that's okay because we 'need to support them', whatever that means.
Trader Joe's is hiring down the street, and it will feel nice if I get a job there what leadership will have to tell all the customers who like me and come in to see me, 'where is she?'
Today's not over. At my store there hasn't been any announcements, but I know that several TLs are on final for whatever reason, and they've been panicking for weeks. So maybe they'll get separated, as they define the word Incompetent. It's deranged but I love seeing these people so stressed, after they have treated everyone on their teams like shit for years and refuse to follow all the rules that everyone else has had to and have been fired for. It's already making my year great!
