Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

How many people have great grand pa born in US?

For all H1B haters, how many people are there , who's great grand pa was born here? I think very few will be there, because in US most of people landed , 4th or 3rd generation ago, not a big difference and people think, that this land belongs to them. There is a business need for companies, to deploy workforce from outside of country, because either lack of workforce in US or they are not competent enough. And it is not like companies who have all 100% local employees, does not go bankrupt.

Both of my great grand-pa's were born US citizens. Both of my grand-pa's are WWII veteran's 2nd and 3rd wave of attack on the beaches of Normandy - the last of the greatest generation in this country. I am a veteran of the conflict in Afghanistan and unemployed engineer. I have no sense of entitlement. I am also highly competent. It is a conundrum created by the government. The best man should have the job. However, in all fairness, companies are hiring the cheapest substitute and suffering problems due to lack of innovation and vision due to the fact that the market is mature and the next wave of disruptive technology has not taken hold yet. You can read the article in this thread and see that it is not the case that the best man is getting the job and there is a broken system. There are many examples of this in affirmative action due to laws that create this kind of problem. I am not a hater and have worked with many H1-B engineers that are excellent. I do however believe the system is broken. C'est la vie.
