Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Laying off Support Teams Would Fe Foolish!

A lot of government agencies and healthcare providers have protocols to have support in the US and certain support folks need to go through background checks. We are not talking about billing and credit card support here where support calls last 5-10 minutes. Companies paying for Oracle software are serious about their businesses otherwise, companies would have picked mysql, postgres and etc for free with nearly non-existence support.

Companies are already moving off of expensive Oracle solutions. Amazon, Salesforce, Workday and open source are much cheaper. Customers are sick of paying for crappy support. They are sick of getting audited and being out of compliance. They are sick of being at the mercy of Oracle. As customers leave, Oracle has no choice but to cut staff to remain profitable. Oracle's cloud strategy is atrocious, expensive, and behind. There is going to be a lot of pain at Oracle.
