You are a fool if you think only "bad" employees get laid off. You'll think differently when it happens to you.

why would it be sad. if your being laid off that means you don't do a good job. need to get rid of the dead weight that brings the company down
If you do not think there will be layoffs then tell me this. The last frac ends today with NOTHING else on the schedule. There are already hundreds of people getting paid 40 hours a week to do nothing! After today there will be hundreds more! SWN is on financial trouble do you really think that they will continue to pay people to do nothing?? The only reason they have waited to announce anything is so that they can do it ALL at the same time. I am not sue how next week will go but I do know it will be a sad week for many people.
Didn't swn randomly layoff and demote people in august? Yes... yes they did

its doesn't matter if you were promoted. you can still be laid off.

How certain are we that there will be layoffs next week? Maybe it will be a reorg. We heard there will be a reorg.
I hope you are sharing facts and are not giving false hope. Employees are scared and weary. They need factual info and to date their management has been quiet and the lack of information has caused people to speculate and ask these types of questions. They are preparing for the worst.
there will be NO layoffs next week. Stop saying this to the V+ employees and SWN. It is scaring them. Everything is and will be fine. SWN has always valued the employees they have and will NOT ruin that now.
With us all up in the air like this I have contiplated what I wanted. At first I wanted to stay of course like most everyone else would. This transition has given me time to think about it quite extensively to say the least. At this point there is nothing any of us can do. For those left standing after next week will not have it any better than those who have fallen. I say this because who ever is left standing will have to constantly look over their shoulder wondering how long will it last until SWN goes bankrupt.
