Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Connecting the dots....

Reading some interesting stuff here, someone talking about thousands of people in scope for the ESP and an automated process required to make that work......OR, as someone else suggested.....these thousands of positions are opened up......never to be filled!

The latter would explain a single week in March being enough to do the PDC, as it would only be dealing with the top ...% they want to keep and are needing to find a home for....

And HR will provide you with photocopies of any document in your HR file. You will need to be in the HR office to view your file. They will provide you a private room or area to view the contents, but you will be watched closely enough to make sure you don't stuff paperwork down your pants.

Every employee has access to their HR file. Just contact your HR Business Partner and make the request. If they can't show it to you that day, they will have it ready soon enough.

How would you know if you have reprimands in your HR file?

So in short, the company will be reduced to a bunch of pansies, ass kissers, and subservient sheep. People who would never speak up, express their opinion, or even exercise their own identity. And of course the wolves in management roles. Once things turn around, these survivors will expect the same "qualities" from any newly hired person. Great future in sight for you Chevron!

It won't be easy to place that many candidates in a short selection process period. Most of the people to be laid off have been identified already. Employees who have not advanced their career in the past 5 years will be cut, as well as those who over the past year or more have had reprimands in their HR file. Of course, the older 50+ employees with higher pay grades have been targeted the most to be cut.

Yea as much as I don't want to see the dots I do. 60% decrease in head count is the only logical solution.

If the process were to execuituted as proposed, it would take 2 months to properly vet the correct candidate. What will happenen is the job sponsor will receive phone calls from other BU's trying to get their people in. Absolutely no way this large volume of candidates can be properly vetted in this short of timespan.
