Include a counter for count of thumbs up or thumbs down for every comment in each thread. If possible make sure only one vote can be registered per comment per IP address. We don't need authors of pinheaded posts voting dozens of times for themselves. Those who get over 10 thumbs down will have their post deleted.

I think that if you are a piece of DEAD WOOD who just got cut from the Chevron tree you should have to wait at least 10 days to cool down before you are allowed to post to avoid loser troll whiners who come here just to stir the pot right after getting canned.

Am I the only one who would really like to be able to view/post at an industry level, not just a company level? I would like to see the boards grouped first by "energy" or "oil and gas", then more specifically by company. Maybe that's asking too much??

Good suggestions, I dont want to poopoo what you guys wrote, here's my two cents though... I think most people use proxies so tracking down the IP is not gonna work. They probably have thousands of messages every day, so manually figuring out what is good or not it's not gonna work too.

Also they have no clue what's going on at Chevron, it'll be very hard for an outsider to figure out what's valid and what's trolling.

I personally would like to be able to vote and give thumbs up or down to a post. I am assuming that most of us here are good guys, therefore good forests will surface up if the give them enough thumbs up. I personally think this is the only way of fighting spam and the stupid posts and comments

Good idea. I second that suggestion. The first people that reply dissing this idea will get a Strike 1 against their IP address.

My suggestion to the Admins of this site would be to delete comments from trolls and morons looking for attention. If a comment contributes a real point of view (positive or negative), keep it. If it's a waste of time, delete it and trace the IP address. After 3 strikes, block that IP address from ever posting on this site.
