To be clear - it's not the type of store, it's not Amazon, it's not type of merchandise, formats, layouts. The issue is in customer service and unless we fix customer service we'll not be able to be successful;. Cutting staff may not help with this, on the contrary it'll make things worse. Closing stores will not help, it'll just drag this on - we need to fix customer service and to become more customer-centric. We are ok on price but if most of our customers dread visiting the store (for whatever reason, but mostly customer service) - things will not improve...
Let's be frank here - most of our associates hate working here - for this or that reason, they feel undervalued, underpaid, overworked etc - and it radiates throughout Walmart - the quality of service has been dropping for decades, every next year is worse than the previous one - we need to do something about this, otherwise we will follow Kmart down the rabbit hole
