Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Inventory.

Why are we paying people $25 an hour to count product? It makes absolutely ZERO sense.

I'm really surprised to hear about TM's receiving bonuses/OT pay/incentives to do inventory. At my store, they first asked for volunteers, then just picked people to come in overnight to help. No extra perks besides the extra hours... Well, not extra hours. They cut hours from the rest of your work week so you didn't hit OT.

Another terrible policy that they will get behind. #wholefoodsmarket

At my store they make the grocery team do it on an overnight shift as well as any front end volunteers. The incentive is a fifty dollar"bonus" that is really just a gift card. As a matter of fact, all bonuses at my store are gift cards now. They stopped giving cash a long time ago.

At my new company, inventory company handles the floor and we handle the backstock. There are no meth'd out people...The inventory company (unlike the Food Hole) does pre-employment and random drug testing. Anyway this system is much better. Takes a lot less time because the inventory company is FAST and they do it in the early morning. When we had to get TMs to do it, it always went very late and left everyone totally exhausted. And it got in the way of customers on Sunday evenings. Dumb

We paid people time and a half for incentive at our store. $25 an hour sounds cheap...
