It's been awful quiet in Tomball as well. Heard BHI is trying to sell the old BJ building, and might try and shutdown Education centers. That is only what I have heard. Not sure how reliable that is.

I trust the source from Mr. Independent Contractor. Last year, after his post about coming layoff, the layoff actually happened within his warning time frame. Very incredible impressive reliable source that he has!

According to reliable sources, Houston Halliburton will have a round of layoff in early February. Baker Hughes cannot be too far behind.

Read an article yesterday that said baker was going to cut 13,000. But it didn't say if that was a new announcement or what was already announced and carried out. Google "Baker Hughes 13,000 layoffs" and you'll find it. Story published yesterday.

I have heard from someone inside BHI CTI that none of the engineers was let go. I guess that's a good sign for engineers at CTI.

Same in MEAP, very quiet and not much being said. In fact a little disturbing. Office is now bare bones and I cannot see where they could cut next. Presume will be field engineers who still seem plentiful.

On a side note we have hired some more Geoscientists, why is anybody's guess when they have nothing to do anyway.

We are also hearing rumors thats 15-20% cut is due in February, but nobody knows the source.

It's been awful quiet. There has to be another 5 - 10 % wave getting ready to hit. Two chemical blend plants getting ready to close in the USA. They keep telling us how well chemicals is doing; err so well they are closing plants.
