Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Just in January 2016, Follett Stock paid dividend twice. Family must have a good month.

Public or private, shareholders get dividends and they also are the investors.

If I was the family I would pay my entire investment out as dividends (borrow money to do so) to get out of this company. Too much risk.

The annual family dividend is guaranteed; no matter what.

The layoffs were done so that family can keep getting their dividends. :)

Being a private family owned company how does this info get out?

Very interesting. Terrible financial results that required laying off 100's of employees enteprise wide in January, yet not terrible enough to not pay a dividend. This is actually the first Follett value, pay me my dividend first even if you have to eliminate employees to do so.
