Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Frade Redevelopment @ LABU

Are we still going forward with this project in LABU? It sounded like a great project at USD 60 / barrel, not sure if it is kept in the log or shelved...any information that you could share?

I’m glad this got cancelled. My current TL said I was in line for a position there but I don’t think I could afford the divorce.

Naaah, this is just an opportunity for PBR to get more money from Chevron in exchange for promising not to arrest Chevron employees for PBR’s screw ups. Frade will be back on the plate within six months.

Business as usual in the uncivilized world.

After the drilling incident back in 2011 the best thing Chevron can do is extract what it can from the existing field then leave. To invest more in Frade would be crazy and potentially disastrous. Another spill like 2011 and CVX people would go to prison and the fine could be in $Billions.

Petrobras nixed it. It is out of Chevron’s control whether to proceed or not.

FRP may go ahead! Chevron loves Brazil and is investing a lot there. It has more potential than any basin outside the Mideast.

The FRP is dead. FID was declined recently.

What "comments above" are you talking about, 8Focm? What crime are you referring to? The last post on this thread is 4 months old.

Shameful to see the comments above displaying a lot of prejudice against people from a different country. This is a crime, by the way, and the Admin of this website should report this to the authorities before others do.

Frade is one asset that Chevron needs to offload and quick. The Brazilians are keen to screw as much out of foreign companies as possible, any reason will do.

Frade Redevelopment Project will not go forward. Screeeew those Brazilian monkeys who actually held one or more of our employees hostage, took away their passport and threatened with jail time even though not one ounce of crude ever impacted their shores. Besides all that, the formation is too risky and will likely start leaking oil through the seabed again. Those bastards can have their oil. Chevron needs to stay away.

Frade Redevelopment Project will go forward. Water Injection has been shutdown since November 2011 when the oil spill occurred and is needed to recover the reserves and maintain reservoir pressure. FRP will do that by adding an Ultrafiltration Unit on the FPSO. Original drilling program will be completed along with additional water injection wells and producers. There are already new faces on the project team with some jobs open in the upcoming ROM. Good luck if you are interested.

No, we decided to screw the Brazilians after they kept several of our employees from leaving the country after the relatively small Frade field release of oil that didn't even reach land. The prosecutor wanted to throw them in jail as others in the judicial system tried hitting up Chevron with huge fines. Why should Chevron do business with these low down South American scumbags any more?
