Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Warning Warning. This ESP is now referred to ESP1. Which means there is an ESP2.

From my understanding Chevron is having a very hard time nailing down the 40% of positions that are vital in the new Org Chart. No surprise as they don't know how to wipe their ass. This may now turn into a phased approach. This may be off.....and ESP2 may just be a revisit for the Alpha ROM. But gleaning the info, and talking to managers in the know.....it looks like they are prolonging this to "ensure" we have the right people in place. A myriad of consultants are plugging away, but ultimately Chevron has no clue, not only the positions, but people. The facade has cracked and senior leadership now gets that rankings, titles, GO400 are not standard and does not resemble results. And yes this ESP process is jaw dropping MASSIVE. But boys and girls we may be on the gravy train a little while longer. Still will be layed off but more time to look. Also this new org chart as of now has nothing to do with the rise of oil price. If oil goes to 120 bucks no changes....it's the way we do buisness. And the Parallel ESP for PG 29 and above is happening this week and next. You don't need as many executives when your work force shrinks by half!

Lol at Hoax. Maybe the name will be different but it is real. And the point of price is not that it did not get us into this position dipshit, his or her point is that, there is no turning back even if prices rise. If you did not understand that you my friend are the typical Chevronite!

God you guys are nuts, has every thing to do with PRICE OF OIL! when high they grab up everyone that can say "O'L BENNES" (focus on minorities and women). when low a few of the dead woodies have hidden well but some of them and a few who know how to find and produce oil are dumped -- 5 to 10 year cycle.

Oh no! This was talked about Friday. That a smaller amount may be chopped this go around. Of the 5k target it may be 2k this ESP then 3k in ESP2. And what was said is true. This is Chevrons new buisness model regardless of price. This is quoted from Watsons own mouth from quarterly call last month.

• Number two, I think the benefits that we're taking on in some of our organizations and some of our structures, I think a lot of that will be permanent.

And I think we've undervalued what simplicity in organizational structures can provide. So obviously we're taking out some layers. We've got rolling

reorganizations that are being implemented around the world and I think that simplicity and clarity will be a positive for the business.

Lol....ESPN actually can air a TV show, if it was Chevron you would just see snow and hear that hiss. And 1pnr exactly. 5 projects and 5 total failures. Zero execution. That is 100% on leadership. I was at Gorgon for 15 months. I could tell you stories that no human being can believe, yet this was the rule not the exception. Every few weeks Watson says "We will be online in a few weeks!" For Christ sake, we can't drill a well in Texas let alone a project in an uber nature reserve. You guys and gals think you can envision how bad it is.....you have no clue! The chickens have come home to roost!

It has nothing to do with oil prices going up and everything to do with chevrons inability to execute a plan. We can strategize all day long but when it comes to the actual doing we fail...as per usual.

Nope. This actually won't be affected by oil prices. If oil goes to $100 this still goes through. The OP is correct....this is the new business model. They know they are bloated and inefficient. Watson talks about this in his quarterly call. This will be the new normal!

Chevron is approaching these ESP layoffs cautiously. There want a Part 1 and 2 to ensure they trim back slowly in case there's a turn around in oil prices.
