That team lead might be worked in modeling industry as a photographer before joining halliburton.

Are you kidding me! really good analysis.

What a shame! throwing away millions of dollar on contractors and expat and laying off core team to save thousands.

Are we still in stone age not using computers and internet anymore. why halliburton need contractors and expat at singapore, cant they work from base location?

Top management might not be aware of all these.

Need to keep an eye on your managers to know about their whereabouts something fishy. it looks to me serious ethics and cobc problem with your managers.

Sing 1 - shut down

Sing 2 - still up but 2/3 men gone

Sing 3 - Phase 1 still there but half dead. Phase 2 in cold stack with zero man now. Multimillion dollar rig idling for nice photograph background

Loyang - Shut down

6 Tuas - Half gone

Only one number going up, expatriate joining in last few months. Well done, Halliburton!

even halliburton management has certain TL only for some positions

  1. For Cake Cutting and Audio/Video Support

  2. to maintain sharepoint site and to have team meeting.

  3. the big shot Sr.TAM with his laptop same like his brain, only have numbers that too manipulated.

he has vision for all quarters and cheats the management with numbers.. 500+ RTA and so on...

Problems with Singapore Halliburton management - Completions Tools (Dec 2014-Till now)

When company is in cost cutting mode, Halliburton invites contractors 25 Engineers Approx from India.

  1. Paying Contractors (QUEST)L1/L2/L3- 56USD/58USD/60USD PER HOUR !!! Yes Its Per Hour.

Imagine a simple math (Worst Case Scenario)

Level 1 Engineer Working for 8 hrs/day and 22 days per month = 22856=9856 USD approx 13680 SGD.

Number of Engineers=25*13680= 314640 SGD / month

Number of Month=314640 SGD *15 months=4719600 SGD= 4 million direct savings only from singapore at worst case scenario.

for these 25 engineers one TL also. imagine the money halliburton wasted during these time. when it comes to Layoff , they attack only the local people who joined and getting a meagre pay 3400 SGD for ATP ( No difference between bachelors and masters)

if company is very keen in cost cutting , they would have sent most of the expats back to US and UK and u wont believe

Minimum cost for expat (Stay,Salary, car,Phone, benefits)= 50000 SGD per person/month

if they sent 10 expats (worst case on dec 2014) they would have easily saved =500000 SGD= 0.5 million per month, consider 15 month = 7.5 million SGD savings

Total 7.5 million+4-4.5 million = 12 million , halliburton would have saved and its a huge amount . coming to the competency of the Quest Engineers and Some TL, its not even worth to have them in the team, rather halliburton promoted them to PTP and other important position.

Coming to Bonus, when halliburton is really in cost cutting mode, manufacturing friends are getting 2.5 times the monthly salary as bonus, i'm not against giving bonus, atleast they could have reduced to 1 month so that they would have saved a lot.

In short i should say, halliburton is going to see the consequences soon once the BHI deal breaks.... not in million... 3 BILLION USD... Friends pls try to jump sooner from the sinking ship..

i could see the situation , once the oil price picks up, there wont be a capable engineers in HAL and it will see the downfall soon...

Quest is bullshit. I never trust their shaddy qualifications. They always ask stupid questions can not perform simple calc or even maths prob. USD55/hr? Something smells fishy and very wrong.

why not leave, when you are asked to leave? You get severance pay too...

You want people to leave so them leaving could secure your job?

Any engineer in Sing 3 facility with half a brain now must leave the place asap. The EDB and Singapore government support for Sing 3 has ended and it is only gonna go severely downhill from here. Join another design company in Singapore or elsewhere but leave soon before you are next.

About time they moved technology to India. It is dirt cheap there and folks are a lot smarter.

Why are the native staff retrenched but the contractors from QUEST engineering untouched? If it is really about them being cheaper, I demand to have a transparent view of their pay scheme. One of Halliburton's remuneration policies is transparency but this contractor business smells fishy from head to toe. Unless of course some unspeakable deals were made that can never see the light of day. We should have Houston to look into this.

Contractors from quest won't be touched....since pie of their per hour rate which is 55USD/hr for onsite work goes to upper management locket for keeping them. One contractor slashed can save 3 singapore ATP...but the middle management doesn't see that instead feels quest is doing good work or they don't have the balls to say it to upper management

Management fears Singapore personnel turnover anyways because of plentiful jobs. Best time to leave to piss off managers for another opportunity is right after layoff

middle management still surviving... What a miracle... Looks like the higher management doesn't know clearly who churns out the number for them monthly. Soon enough, more of us will leave on our own. Leaving the middle management fighting to stay afloat.
