Any remaining employees forced to take off and use vacation time this year? If so, how did management determine who, when and how much time?

New vacation policy is in effect but your 2015 balance was brought forward and now you're accruing 2016 vacation hours. When you put in for vacation then they will pull from your 2015 balance first then when that's all gone they will use your 2016. You have to have all your 2015 vacation time used by December of 2016 or you lose it. I was under the impression that if I were let go then they would have to pay me for my 2015 carryover plus my severance
They are doing this because money(s) for paid vacation sits in an account that actually detracts from the bottom line and appears to the financial guys like debt sort-of-speak. To minimize the money in that account they are forcing us to use our vacation time to help make the bottom line APPEAR better. Our competitors have been doing this for years. Or at least that was the way it was explained to me in one of our recent managerial meetings. Look at it on the positive side, just use the vacation time and spend it with your family, friends, or whatever you enjoy doing, or search out another Job like I am.
I assume youre asking if we have been forced to take time off use vacation because of lack of work by our management. Not yet but we were told to expect it very soon. In other words we expect to be told to take a week off and use vacation time whether you want to or not. Sounded like it will be pushed on both hourly and salary employees.
New company policy is in place. Vacation no longer rolls over, you don't get paid for accrued time if you leave WFT (by choice or not).
We are too shorthanded to use our vaction.....but you should get to pick when and how within reason. By within reason, i mean not talking all 100+ hours at once but at least 40 hrs to take a week vacation
