Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

We are doing everything we can out here to abide by safety and company protocol. It just seems that when the economy gets rough, HAL comes headhunting in all areas of the company. Business is business, but it sure makes it rough on the ones out here away from their families working hard to feed their families. As for me, I'll do whatever is asked of me and if it no longer becomes good enough, the good Lord will steer me in the right direction.

This site has no rules so I guess that anyone can post anything they want to. Venting is a part of the grieving process, and most of us are grieving over the sate of the industry. But so few here seem to realize that if you want to work you have to play by the company rules - Halliburton, Schlumberger, Conoco, whoever. The company expects you to be a team player, supporting initiatives like safety, staying current in Hal-U (iLearn has been defunct for years, shows how much the original poster participated), Participating in Giving Choices, etc. Lots of "former" employees told their Company "screw those programs", now they are facing some of the consequences. If you don't play by the Company rules, you won't win.

Laughing so hard at all this right now!

Seriously though, did you know that your participation in Safety programs is a factor in staying or going? Do them HOCs, BBPs, SWAs, and anything else they ask.

Or find another job, your choice.

The guy that makes Hal U presentation will be the first one to be assigned the course.
