How do you get a vcip after you've been laid off? Says a lot for COP hope they weather the storm.

I cashed my check today. I too was a severed employee that ended up getting VCIP. So thanks to all the schmucks busting their tales last year so I could get a hefty VCIP check :)
I just got my vcip notice too. Take your total and divide it by the price of WTI. It's a big number. COP will need to pump a long time to pay me off and with every barrel they are losing money. It just doesn't add up, but as long as the check is in the mail I am one happy camper.
But just remember that the laid off employees who get VCIP did the work so they are entitled to get paid for it! Everyone had the opportunity to ask for severance and get the package plus VCIP. Getting paid to get out of that place and then getting a bonus check several months later is a big no-brainer. I really feel sorry for those who are still suffering and having to take pay reductions in the form of reduced 401k match and higher health care premiums. Next time raise your hand!
Just got my VCIP notice and pleasantly surprised. Anyone know when the checks will arrive, or are they direct deposit for those laid off?
This board going to be dead for awhile once these VCIP payments are done. I know I'll be happy to leave! I've also been lucky enough to land another job so keep trying everyone!

I thought vcip was part of your severance pay, at least thats what my letter stated.

VCIP is part of your pay not a bonus. So yes they pay it.
The VCIP is bonus for 2015 prorated by the length of time spent there. So yeah, if VICP is being paid, even us poor joes are entitled to it. I just got a notice of how much I would get in the mail today. All in all, my layoff was handled as well as I could hope for. Still, it was my first and I hope my last. Anyway, I have a new job and have landed on my feet. My VCIP is the last bit of business between COP and myself. Once I'm finally paid out, I'm putting all this crap behind me.
