Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Does the Chevron severance plan restrict former employees from posting on this web site?

When I was laid off from a former employer several years ago, there was a clause in the severance package restricting former employees from saying "bad things" about the former company and also contacting employed managers. Does anyone know if the Chevron severance package has clauses in the contract with specific restrictions?

@G9M1aSN-5uiu is one of the "total-@ssholes" that you reference . Likes to start unfounded rumors. He posts the same unrelated line about pensions on every thread without starting his own. The definition of deadwood. He would be banned from the "non-@sshole employee's group" that you form, 3xid.

I big think to think about is Chevron will no longer offer Lump Sum Pensions. you will get an Annuity every month. and Chevron will keep your millions and be making more money off of it. Then when you die the checks stop and Chevron keeps it all.

3ius,

Lay off the racism. I have yet to hear Cruz call for the repeal of the 1st amendment. Troll elsewhere.

I sometimes laugh to myself and think that we need to start a non-@sshole employee's group so we band together and push out these short-term thinking permanent middle-managers. We all know the type, it's easy to see them a mile away. They're the folks that confuse being a total-@sshole with upward mobility, and lack the self-awareness or introspection to realize that your track record also entails the effective management of people through means other than coercion.

That being said our brilliant Howard Roarks need to channel a bit more Hank Reardon if they want to take on the Wesley Mouchs inside the company.

Ted Cruz threatens to shut down and stop working when he doesn't get his wY. That sounds like real deadwood. Screw that Cuban POS.

Maybe you could get a nickel for every time you misspell douche. Then you wouldn't have to work at all.

@G9M1aSN-2brj, Attacking posters that support Ted Cruz is all you got? I smell dead wood rotting. Start working on your resume instead of trolling this site while Chevron pays you for doing nothing all day, your current position. "Reading Comprehension is not your strong suit" LOL - If I only had a nickel for every time I read a useless 24-7 online dooshe post that on some thread. You cybergeeks without a life need some new lines. Be creative. Don't people learn anything in school anymore these days?

@G9M1aSN-1gft. The OP said his package had a do not discuss clause. The other poster said it must have been put together by Cruz supporters.

How can the Chevron Serverance Plan stop you from posting on this site? Once you are laid off and they send you the severance check and you deposit it, what exactly is it that prevents you from posting anything on this anonymous site? Absolutely nothing! I got my severance and here I am telling Chevron to piss off. See... nothing happened.

The people who guarantee that you have freedom of speech are Ted Cruz supporters? I agree with that.

I think @G9M1aSN had a valid question - no need to tear him another a--hole for asking a fair question. Many of us have been on this site for years, so, for us bashing CVX is 100% normal, I can totally see someone who is just joining asking the same question.

OP......crazy isn't it? It's the culture not just at a BU but for the entire organization. It is insanity to stay on with a company that's culture is beyond corrupt. When you get a new job this all becomes like a dream as it is so far beyond reality it is not really comprehensible. Most are feeling your pain. It's like trying to move a mountain...you can't! Waisting time hating will only affect you not them. I know it's hard but let it go!

I am the OP and I am not from PGPA, or a gay guy.... I am a middle aged white guy preparing to be released in the next the ROM. I couldn't be more on your side when it comes to exposing the corrupt management. Before I started to work at CVX, I thought it was the greatest company I could ever get a job with. After working at CVX, I am so disappointed with the "passive aggressive avoidance" management style of the Chevron Way. My management is a bunch of limp dicks that cannot make a decision if their life depended on it. They cannot allow any work to get completed unless they are directly overseeing the effort and getting credit for the idea. Chevron hires brilliant people and then lets them rot on the sidelines as a few select people get credit for all the work completed by others.

I appreciate the feedback from the poster @G9M1aSN-xun, "My severance agreement did not state anything like the OP is suggesting." I apologize for suggesting it, but I just wanted to know from someone who has already read the severance agreement. I am sure I will be reading my own copy before the end of the year.

Thanks to everyone who posted, I always enjoy hearing the opinion of others since we are in this together and much to my surprise so many others are getting screwed just like me. Good Luck to all of those affected by the lay off. A lot of good people will be impacted.

probably was the gay guy or his staff. They have a lot of time on their hands when you have 5 or 6 PGPA people sitting around doing nothing. What a joke....

I believe a PGPA slithering snake posted this post to scare off employees from exposing their corrupt managers.

Was it the gay guy who gave out pizza coupons to the town that experienced a fatal explosion in PA?

That threat of punishment for exposing corrupt management on a blog is a farce. If Chevron tried to use the law to silence a worker they let go, it would make national headlines. The big shots have expensive parachutes, so they sign non-disclosures. Plus, they end up as executives at other companies. They can't bad mouth Chevron. That preserves the corrupt.

Those sort of restrictions may apply to PSG 26 and above, not to everyone else. My severance agreement did not state anything like the OP is suggesting. Besides, I've stated enough things on this site already to send me to Sing Sing or Huntsville two times over. Lol.

Freedom of speech. How does it work? the people that put that package together must be Ted Cruz supporters.

i couldn't answer that question, I was not ROMed out, however, I don't understand why it would matter, the posts are anonymous, and what if we talk shit about a company run by a bunch of incompetent managers and execs who showed that they don't give a shit about us the employees....fukem is our motto...
