I think the Noggies should run the repair and upgrade side of the business, they cannot have worse personnel than Montrose thats for sure, its not possible.

The way things are going the noggies will be running the show soon from Norway, just look at the reorganisation most the names are Norwegian, one already diverts work away from Montrose and other Engineering departments to Norway as it is and he's a director reporting to a director which was supposed to have been stopped

Nov workers are a laughing stock i love to watch them working hard on my rig for sh-- cash well done boys get yourself a proper job ha ha ha ha X

Typical NOV, either unable or unwilling to close the process out within the timescale they suggested at the start on the consultation, leaving lads to stew at home, waiting for whatever news comes their way.

Regardless of "market conditions" and "declining revenues", to treat the staff with respect costs nothing. Good luck to everyone for the future.

Please check your contracts regarding redundancy payments and the legality of what they have planned. What they tell you may be somewhat different from what is legal.

The company has buried there heads in the sand! I belive they have lost a lot of costumers because of very poor workmanship and serious over pricing jobs! They will continue to over price jobs just to keep up with the high wages they pay!! More pay offs December for sure! This can't work.im scared

At least with the redundancies NOV can still spend money on training courses for some service engineers while others wait their fate

Management will be in a flap considering they're going to get there arses sued big time. All the experience is walking out of the doors direct to competetors and management don't even realise that ! Acas are having a field day with the scoring and pooling system

Just proves that NOV haven't a clue at all, all these cutbacks and still advertising jobs at various plants. Who would want to work here now?

Have also noticed over last few days management are in a flap.......! Haven't a clue how to handle the atmosphere or the personnel.

Little bit of advice to the management team, brush up on your HR skills, I'm going to have a field day against you lot! £££££s

It's maybe just aswell the workshops are laying off if this is the attitude they all have towards their so called colleagues. Everyone's entitled to a gripe and a moan, but to personally attack someone is out of order.

So much bitchiness and people being sooooo mean and horrible to each other! I mean come on dears, can't we all just love each other and remember the unicorns, rainbows and the little fluffy puppies? Not pink nosed puppies though... Urgh, they're awful. I do like a good firm sausage in a red onesie though. I LOVE YOU ALL!! Xxxxxxxxxxx

What's the charge hand doing if the mentor is on his phone that often?

by
| | Reply
Post ID: @anql+GAdk5cp

It's bad enough that the appertices have nothing to gain experience wise, it's worse if you have an apprentice whose mentor is on their phone 90% of the time. Why is there no training equipment for them that they can strip, inspect and rebuild. Give them and us the experience to grow through training and how to train. This is not rocket science, it's pure and simple common sense. At the end of the day If it benefits the company, it benefits us all. Stick together, instead of point the finger.

comments about the apprentices - bar Neil and Campbell every apprentice is nowhere near qualifier and had little training, is that there fault? Go by attitude wise etc but have to feel for them in a way.

No point moaning about apprentices not going to save our jobs. I agree apart from labour work they are useless just now but look at way it's run all of them had f--- all training and given little or nothing to do all day clean walls etc no chance I would let my son come work here

sack all the apprentices all useless, make the workshop look crowded and do f--- all. 100% useless

Post ID: @9bsx+GAdk5cp

there is no future in nov. those who don't get paid off this time will lose their jobs when the yanks ship it all back to the states within the next year. so all stick together and stop picking on young coutts.

Possibly down to how we treat Apprentices

Our charge hands don't attempt to grow/develop them in any way, which is crazy as apprentices are the future of the company.

I'll tell you how many people should go, zero. Management have failed to safeguard our jobs, last year when we first took a hit ( only shop floor of course ) they should have dropped the price of parts and labour, it might have been enough to persuade customers to bring in equipment for us, but no, lets save money by taking it off their employees ( only shop floor of course ). We're told it's the States that are calling the tune and we're the rats following the piper, mind you their probably true reading some of the cowardly crap on here, if all else fails then sack the spineless arseholes on this forum who are naming people, it lacks respect and quality, we should be sticking together not falling apart. Mind you that's the thing with arseholes, nothing but sh-- and wind come out of them.
