Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Fixed term

My fixed term ends in May. They dont give any indication if it will be extended or not. Is anybody else in the same boat? If so what should I do?

Unless you are a highly specialized contractor you should look else where. I know many SO for contractor are not being extended until after the ESP but that is only a week away now. Also all contractor jobs are open and if they can be displaced with employees they will be. Good luck

You should probably look outside an Internet message board for advice.

Read your contract and look for a new job. It ain't rocket science.

OP: Are you a Chevron employee or contractor? I'm not familiar with fixed-term employment situations for employees in the US Chevron employees.

In either case, don't be shy and ask your supervisor directly. It is expected that if you're fixed term you need to always ask for extensions (should you desire) and always continue to look for other employment.
