Goddamit man!!! If u r gonna take half the week off to take care of your sick child all the time either quit or go take a leave of absence. I'm tired of all the work skipping.

Or worse, the head shakers cranking out kids, mom and dad work at the Q, mom sucking down a paycheck, but has only worked on/off for a few years as on constant 'leave' due to all the breeding...

Flexible schedules or Work-Life Balance is a good way for high tech companies to compete against Google and Apple in the labor market. It does have some cost but it is not an expense that shows up immediately on the balance sheet.

GFX drivers are super easy. They don't really have any work to do. That's why they can take of all that time. The system team does all the real work. GFX software just copies them.

This is so common with graphics team in Boulder and SCL. I know few from GFX performance team who do this regularly. Either they on vacation or taking care of kids , wife.
