I confirm what OP says. My bff works in HR and told me the same thing . The idiots who keep denying these things are the same ones who kept saying oil will pick back up and we will bounce right back and quickly as of January 2016. LOL WRONGO!!!!!

That news headline was from the closing of the air center facility. The news was released at the beginning of February. This story is not true.

Houston-based National Oilwell Varco Inc. (NYSE: NOV) plans to close a Houston manufacturing facility and has already begun cutting jobs.

The facility at Eldridge., near West Littk York, will close on or between May 31 and June 15, according to a letter to the Texas Workforce Commission.
