Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Honesty is such a lonely word and most of what we NEEDED from you - Mr Watson

To the tune of Honesty – by Billy Joel

If you search for tenderness

Chevron Way isn't hard to find.

You can find the love you need to live.

But if you look for truthfulness

You might just as well be blind.

It always seems to be so hard to give.

Honesty is such a lonely word.

Management is so untrue.

Honesty is hardly ever heard (these days)

And most of what I need from you – Mr Watson

You Sir are the HEAD of this MESS

A FISH BEGINS TO ROT FROM THE HEAD FIRST. To save Chevron, the head should be taken out immediately

GORGON PROBLEM ON THE NEWS

The gorgon problem that is stated in the previous post is now on Google news. Some of the postings are actually true. Also, the 700 layoffs are for downtown Houston.

GORGON AND CVX IS F**

. I have been following this board for a few weeks now. When a poster flagged massive problems with Gorgon - he/she was dumbed down and made out to be an idiot. I hear there is huge problems - they could barely export the first cargo and the plant is shut down for god knows how long. There was total mis-management of the commissioning - and things were hurried - where did " there is always time to do it right " disappear??????? Pathetic pathetic pathetic the self serving and facetious demeanour of the management - they say one thing - bur it is only for the infantry - the generals can do whatever they want!!!!!!!!

About 3 years ago one of GOMBU's metrics was to spud the Linehem Creek well before the end of

the year. Guess what!!!!!! we hit that metric by spudding the well December 31, 2011! Put a power

swivel and a 6" rock bit on the bottom of a pole truck and you get a green dot; metric complete- we

spudded the well.

Wouldn't be able to raise the derrick until 6 weeks later in Feb. I'm sure that this press release issued

by the company is the same.

I do believe that they ended up with the deepest hole in Louisiana. Put the completions team SOL.

I'm sure the DRL guys got "atta boys".

The OP doesn't know squat. If mgmt gets a bonus for first cargo by Q1, then I guarantee a cargo load

will ship on March 31 at 11:59pm. It might be a very tiny load, but it will ship. Afterwards, the plant

will close for six months to facilitate optimizations and allow for application of lessons learned.

LOOKBACKS AND YOGI BERRA

It was a long time coming - and the first lady took a hit for Gorgon - with Melody Meyer leaving CVX to pursue other opportunities!. Finally it is time to send expatriate executives packing home with the rest of us who got repatriated last year, for failing to use stop work authority to prevent mismanagement - when there was ample time and sufficient reason to do so... at least those of us who had out eyes open.

Watson said Gorgon will produce first quarter/soon - or something like that. He sure is bad at predicting - also said oil prices would not go below 55 USD and "he should know"!!.

Having spent 2 years in ABU - I can only guess our buddies down under ain't realized fully yet, how bad their future will get after Watson has to admit why Gorgon did not come online in the 1st quarter and explain why. and "this he sure should have known"!!. There must be a few more expats planning their opportunistic pursuits elsewhere.

Stateside, even with BigFoot fiasco still under review... it is fairly certain to quote Yogi Berra : "we made too many wrong mistakes" and it is time to look for other opportunities because 'The future just aint what it used to be'

Gorgon is a mess. I took another job but still on Chevrons pay roll. Yes it's pretty easy to do with the

degree of dysfunction at ABU. No update on the cool down to get ready for shipping....why? They F'd

it up. It did not cool down. There is no way this project ever hits on all cylinders. At the failed "cool

down" meeting, management begged for.....just one shipment. Just one! Just so we can report that to

Watson and share holders. That should leave you brimming with confidence in our leadership team.

Watson announced that Gorgon production was starting within weeks? Any idea when are we placing our product in the market?

On the Lineham Creek thread...ya got it right except the part about the deepest hole in Louisiana. That distinction belongs to the City of New Orleans, affectionately known as the Big Sleazy.

...and yet many of us have heard of the movement attacking the 1% and bad-mouthing it as being ultra left. Folks, the 1% group is getting richer and the middle class is sliding downhill in this country. Soon, people like our JW will be in the top 0.5% people. It's an outrage!

81 mil in stock options. I read it in disbelief a month. 81 million. Slap me, I must be dreaming. A decade of flops gets you 81 million in options.

They love Watson. Look at his Former 4 filed on January 29th. He received 81 million in stock. He is getting rewarded for his behaviors. Blame the board.
