Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Why no handover or handover documents

Why have the people in scope not been asked to create a list of current items being worked?

.

What happens with all of the work that they are currently doing? Does this just get dropped?

.

Why have some people been told they have to be at the office on Thursday and some have not been told this at all? I was told I have to be at work tomorrow while some of the others have and have not been told this. We even report to the same manager.

We were required to fill out hand-over documents here in Indonesia.

Naw 1jnk. People that got jobs were notified today. Thayer are told they can stay home tomorrow until the dust clears. That makes sense. I'm afraid you are being called in to be laid off. From my experience yor supervisor comes in and asks, "got a minute?" That's how long it takes to tell you. Then you go meet with HR. If boss likes you he gives you up to an hour to pack your personal effects and send out a couple mails before you surrender smart badge, phone, lap top, keys. Then it's bye-bye. Be brave, don't argue or plead and out like the professional you are.

So if my boss told me to be in the office on Thursday then I am getting the axe. Will they call me into a room to tell me or come to my office. Are you sure or just assuming that the axe is falling on me. I though I was fairly safe.

MezdUp -- You answered your question. You are out. You will be escorted out of the building. Your manager knows what work you do and Chevron backs up all your files nightly.

Good luck. It will seem horrible for a few weeks. You learned a big lesson from Big Brother/Big Sis, The Chevron Way is bullshit. There is no way. Chevron has a California PC PR image as cover to inflate its CVX stock along with false mega-projects that are turning out to be dry holes.

Lol at Chevron seeing you. The Fvcktards can't tie their shoes let alone sue a person over misplaced files. You people are high!

Ahhhh because nobody has important work. Therefore no plan is needed.

The handover is not set in stone. It will depend on what your supervisor requires, as each of them has been given permission to request X days to complete a successful handover to someone that would be nominated after you are deemed left standing. For some, it was hours. For some, it was a week or two. I was asked to stay on my project for 6 more days, after being notified. That was the time for me to draft my handover package, and meet with the nominated person to take it. It really just depends on your role, and situation. I would certainly not recommend people sabotage their files, as Chevron has full time lawyers on staff, which will enjoy shredding you in court. Not worth it, plus you'll lose your severance pay, and have a nice legal bill to pay.

Make your transition plan, but have two copies ready. But before Thursday arrives, move all your working files to an obscure location on the O Drive that only you know. Your transition plan will cite the former location on your P drive, which will now have no files. If you are tapped to be left standing, your replacement will also be out in the cold. Chevron screws you and you return the act.

Where I work, people will stay on until their replacements arrive, or their Visa expires.

I have heard that some of them will be asked to stay on for a few days or weeks to do just that and then get their 60 days ...
