I got back from my appointed meeting. I got canned. My job position was eliminated, I was told. I bet these a$$holes reinstate the job position within 3 months under another title. Yet I get the axe after 12 years and excellent PMP's and rankings. I was told to stay on through the end of the month to transition some tasks I did to other employees. Screw them. I will not transfer any meaningful knowledge to anyone. Not after the way I and others were treated today.

This JACKASS TROLL simply cut and pasted a response from another thread and posted it as his own OP. It does not deserve the responses that you are giving it because it is not his and he is a troll looking for unmerited self-validation. But there is none. He is a fraud.
I did almost the same thing to my first wife. I put week old fish around the house, it was hilarious. She never checked the curtain rods.

Bring a bag of shrimp to work every day for the rest of the month. Hide them in crazy assplaces that no one will ever find them.

Join the club! If you are over 55 you are OUT the door too! I got excellent PMPs and gave them my all, but after 12 yrs of my total dedication I got the ax at 61 yr old! Had to sign a paper that I wouldn't use for age discrimination.
Good for you. Chevron, like all companies, demand total loyalty and commitment, The Chevron Way, and all the silly slogans and PC crap, and then can you and expect you to prep your replacement and leave with a happy face. You are probably in your mid 30's to mid 40's. Good luck finding a decent job in Houston, unless you are single/not a homeowner. Welcome to the new America. There are big layoffs happening in lots of industries. Remember this, there are 4000 more chevron employees to cut this year.
@ the OP, who reposted that or to whoever originally posted that on the Houston thread - , Sorry that you feel that way but that is more years of paid employment than a lot of us got from CVX. And you get a sweet severance pkg. You could have done much worse. CVX needs to cut bodies. It's not as personal as you are making it out to be. I suggest that you don't burn bridges. If you are still young and competent you should have a bright career ahead of you and invaluable experience to bring with you.
