Agreed. Their process is skewed. Deadwood remains employed. Just wish they could have done the layoffs properly. Lots of strong employees were axed but left deadwood to "guide" the company. Very disappointing they couldn't do or get this business process right.

Not enough from my observation. Still have high psg "advisor" types who do nothing at all other than

Pretend to be busy. Let's clean up if we're remotely interested in making this business profitable. Still employed - still disappointed that the deadwood selection process omitted these premier deadwood opportunities to release. Methinks Gombu does have a distorted deadwood removal process in place.

Can we let some of the worthless IT contractors in GOMBU go?

LOL -I used to think that the back into your parking spot was a joke when Shell was doing that in the 80's. I'm not sure when Chevron started doing that, they are latecomers. Anywho, I always considered that the way the slackers could rush to leave the office, since it's much easier to get out of your spot than get in it. and none of the slackers had anything to be on time for they would just be milking more clock by doing it at arrival time. Of course It is a little safer to pull out forward if there's traffic.

Then , years go by, and I find myself doing it at home!! Easier to hook up my boat on short notice. I guess there's a good side to everything.

Back into your parking spot in COV 100. Walk down the Energy Center hallway and look at the propaganda on the right. That's a walk down memory lane of the once great company and business unit Chevron used to have. Best BU in the corporation a few years ago.

Now it's been neglected and being run into the ground. The lack of

Investment into shelf properties (mainly because the company is broke and can't afford to pay to keep production up) will ultimately be the Achilles heel on selling the remaining properties. P&A liabilities are huge. DWEP drills the Deepwater wells for this business

unit and they've only got one rig drilling development wells out at Tahiti. Let's not forget that there are 2 wells shut in at Tahiti (1 producer and 1injector). So frustrating because we really aren't bringing on DW production in GOM.

Cuts were far deeper in Covington than low double digits but many checked the EOI box and got their wish. Plus a number of Lafayetters got transfers to Covington while many Covingtonites transferred to other BUs. Many got very short term or short term transition jobs that kind of hides the full depth and breadth of cuts. Many early career and Horizons folks let go. Most of these were not low performers- we lost or are losing, in transition jobs, some talented and high potential folks.

Poster @-fpun is the sourpuss that doesnt get along with anyone- but especially the bright and kind-hearted folks in GOMBU. Anger is a trap bro. Don't let the sun set on the anger in your heart. Lot of folks remember that passage from Eph. Most dont remember the verse that follows. @-fpu let it go.

Not many at all were let go in Covington, from what I understand. In the low double digits. You won't read that here, where the less productive, dead weight type, people left standing hang out. They wish bad will upon other business units on this site as if that's going to make their situation better. Go figure!

Yes Indeed there is an Anti-Louisiana/Anti-GOM troll who writes on this board continuously. And all the posts are from the same person. He even replies to himself to make it seem like more than one person, as you can see here. The GOM BU have been the most profitable for many years until just recently and they are known for hard work and diligence, and in turn have many haters. And they don't tolerate slackers. The less than hard working, laid back, easy going employees in other business units that have to deal with the, real oil fashioned oil-patch type work which gives you results hate them with a passion and are quite jealous.

Northpark office is on a spiral to closing down as shallow water assets are sold (if people will take that garbage) and DWEP will eventually move to Houston. Lafayette is already closing. Given the number of people I've talked too past and present about this disgraceful office and its offensive people, it cant come too soon. Remove the tarnish from an otherwise respectful and honest company. We don't need the bigoted filth of South East Louisiana doing any more damage to Chevron. That French influence is too pervasive.
