Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Isn't time to shut down San Ramon and move to Houston?

Isn't it time to stop the charade, and shut down San Ramon and move to Houston? With all the people let go in Houston, there is plenty of room. There is no advantage to being a California company.

Lixu, I'm sure the company can't afford to lose you! Chevron doesn't care about folks not wanting to move! Although, I'm sure Watson and crew would hate to leave the mansions there, it isn't a reason to stay. And I'm laughing too hard a the tax break angle, that's a good one!

GSgfe7p-1nyx is exactly why they need to move to Houston. California is one screwed up state, and we don't need the people who screwed up the state to keep screwing up Chevron.

Given their cash flow issues, I wonder what they could get for the San Ramon Campus. It would be millions, a drop in the bucket to the billions they need, but would be a step in the right direction.

ixu - you are most welcome to leave. the tax break is bs. chevron always get negative press coverage no matter what we do esp. from the s.f. testic--s. why stay when you are not welcome. texas/louisiana would welcome our corp hq with open arms.

Chevron gets huge tax breaks in California because of the refineries they have. It's not hurting them to stay headquartered in California like people think and most would leave versus move to Houston. I know I would.

Yes, the powers that be should live in the places they've wrecked havoc and experience the pain they've caused. They should be closer to the epicenter of the business, and no 2 refineries don't tie them to Cakufornia, please!

HQ will stay in California as long as the two refineries are operated by Chevron.

Why would you want to move from California to Houston? Count your blessings.

It's a little comical, we have lost our breakfasts, no more vending machines, bring your own cup most of the time in the kitchen, coffee has changed, many people lost there phones. So all this nickle and dime activity, and yet we are still technically headquarter in, California ?????
