If you got replaced, that says a lot about your skillset - you don't deserve the job you had. H1B program is designed to control collective bargaining by the American workers. If the program gets stopped, the workforce will get too arrogant and would take corporations for granted - which they are already by WFH for silly reasons, leaving early, taking very long breaks at work, gossiping about the management, etc. H1b program will have such guys control their habits, as they would get easily replaced the very next day. So, I am in favor of increasing the cap from 65k per annum to 6 million per annum. And FYI - I am a white manager :)

Every year 85k H-1Bs are replacing American tech workers in the USA.
