Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Follett .....the laughing stock of the library industry

So you are laying off people so you can get out from being $90 million in the hole. Now people are without jobs and no money to feed their family. So what do you,do? You tell them it is for the good off the company that there won't be any cost of living raises next year if they are among the ones who don't get fired. Then and only then, when you have wreaked havoc on so many lives, do you buy your largest competitor Baker and Taylor. Yes, Ray, the word got out! You screw the people who you promised to take care of so you can buy another company. Watch that be run into the ground too. Another BWI! But what do you care?....your kids will be happily sharing Easter dinner. Mine won't be.

Follett totally sucks.

I was at the meeting where Ray announced this. It is a fact. Big acquisition so it takes time.

This is a repost from a few weeks back. Nothing new (and I'm guessing nothing substantiated, either). I don't like this company one bit, It's hard enough putting up with the real crap. The imaginary stuff does nothing.

Anyone know when the purchase of Baker and Taylor is expected to go through? Does this mean Follett will be taking on long term debt and the related interest expense?

We bought another company? Great.

It is simply and utterly incomprehensible how this company can buy other companies, implement new computer programs (CT Web, CT training programs, Kronos, etc), make million dollar donations, yet somehow doesn't have the money to give employees yearly raises, bonuses, profit sharing, etc.

This company used to be great to its employees. Now it's crap.
