Best thing about INTC is the free fruit. I take 3-4 pieces a day.
If that's the way Murthy operates, @2lvp, I like his style and can't wait for him to BRING IT ON!
IOT needs to reviewed carefully. It's more of a chop shop business. Customers come up orders which are very much like ala carte menu in a restaurant. I want 5000 chips with X specification and Y tech support in hardware. Can any semiconductor manufacturer break even with these kind of orders ? People talk about scalability but this IOT market needs chips to be like a lego set. Assemble pieces which customers ask for and give it to them.
When Murthy fired people at QCOM, they went after 10-15% bottom performers in each and every group - software, asic design, digital design and verification, customer engineering, marketing, mid-level management. The main sector to feel the brunt was middle aged managers (across every division) who were pretty much acting as secretaries collecting status from worker bee, no engineering contribution from their personal front but just presenting a dumb report to the management ....
I also agree with 1doj. BK's legacy is going to be... what? Andy Grove moved Intel from memory to CPUs - RIP Andy. Every CEO since has been a downhill ride with BK's tenure falling right at the bottom (let's hope there's not much farther to go).
Hi Troll (2dky). HR is a really good group. Very busy group with only upside. Good luck though, I don't think you're a good fit.
Does anyone know a good group at Intel. Seriously I really am interested :-)
SSG org ? No real products from this group ?Any news there . Hillsboro site is full of software bugger

Intel's issue isn't IoT, it's poor leadership. Intel isn't shifting with the market because Intel believes it can control the market. This time it's not going to work. Business as usual must change. BK needs to be fired and a new CEO needs to come in, from the outside, to bring Intel under control. Intel is a 55 Billion dollar a year corp with 60% margins, they can shift and change to meet new markets and demands. It's time for a refocus on Leadership, change in Leadership, and watch Intel flourish. That won't happen till BK is fired and 65% of management is laid off. It's not the workforce failing Intel...it's Management.
IoT is a waste factory, there is so much mismanagement of resource, time, R&D spend, it's not even funny
How about SDI?
Not only IoT, maker team is in the list also.
