@nsh, I have a Masters degree in Finance, but if you are still a CVX employee, you will be soon taking an on-the-job Finance lesson if Chevron doesn't get their house in order soon enough. Why is it you think they are burning through asset sales and personnel at this pace? You know the answer and a good part of it is exacerbated by the Damn Dividend. Enjoy the increase in CVX stock price for a little longer, but be holding any when the divi is lowered. It's going to be going down 10-15% minimum.

@jdx, just wait for more asset sale announcements to come along with deepening layoff head counts. Everything to continue paying the Damn Dividend. Sadly, Chevron will have to give in one day after half the workforce is gone and admit they must reduce it. You'll see.
You got a point there. My wife used to joke about CVX alerts preceeding even the school district announcements in the past. But nothing today. It could also be that they don't have the money to pay all staff an extra day off. See the news today CVX put its Myanmar assets up for sale just a few days after we saw the announcements on the Asian Geothermal assets for sale.
Hopefully those that caught the park and ride will be able to navigate home if Metro does not restart their bus routes. I'm sure Uber will be happy to take you home in surge pricing mode.

I hope they eliminated the CBRES inclement weather person's position. In the last 7 years that I remember it had rained severely, I always arrived at the office minutes before the notification to stay home was issued. What a waste of resources for Chevron. This position was one of several "hold-my-hand" liberal programs the company needs to rid themselves of.
