Evidence is ample that the very claim of a STEM shortage in the U.S. is phony. Salzman noted that "overall, our colleges and universities graduate twice the number of STEM graduates as find a job each year."
Kudos to the LA times for exposing this disgusting behavior Qualcomm actively promotes and should be held accountable for. I do not hold the H1B holders at fault but rather the nefarious corporations like Qualcomm that advocate for a hostile working environment by employing Slave Labor.
Although against Human Trafficking should demand transparency instead of the lies and corporate kickbacks to Washington at the expense of US workers.
Here is Qualcomm hiring process: get visas from Washington DC thru political donations, connection with US administration, lobbyists; remove 5% of workforce periodically using phone PIPs, bring over Indians thru work visas; repeat same process over and over; and promote it by calling it "need for more diversity in the workplace"
