Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

Is the deal going to happen?

Keep hearing the deal is not going to happen with Halliburton, but I hear there are talks that GE is interested. Anyone have any info on this?

I was disappointed to learn that this CAN go past the April 30 deadline if BOTH companies agree to keep "working" on it. Seeing how the suits that vote on it will get rich if it ever does go thru, why would they NOT keep extending it???

If only Halliburton could get Cheney back in office. ..... No bids. Rubber stamp.

Looks like it not going to easy for Dave this time.

SLB is getting back at HAL for losing all the Iraq contracts when Hussein was leader. France didn't give one crap about an Iraqi life, they lost over $5 billion in contracts that HAL was awarded though the US government. SLB is leveraging the EU to push back.

Get out of Baker Hughes while you still can. I will gladly take a severance package.

OP,... ask yourself, "how long has this fiasco gone on?" (Answer: Too long,... and it isn't getting any better.) What's the primary concern for the EU? Answer: To insure competition in the industry doesn't skew toward one, or fewer, large companies whereby they control the market. Then, ask yourself what's been going on with "the market". Answer: It's shrinking,... what business remains is sought after more bitterly than ever (means: competition is high, because of "conditions", even BEFORE a proposed merger). Then, ask yourself: "Why would the EU consider introduction of even MORE market stress by allowing #2 and #3 to merge, when no one knows, yet, where things are even headed, or for how long?

Seems pretty simple, Dude.

No.No. and No. What part of No do you not understand? Use your brain. This merger has gone on to long. It's not going to happen.

Pay Baker off. Vote Dave out.....
