#Struggles through OP#

"Shooting fish in a barrel" springs to mind. Surely, when using print as a medium, you can use a spell checker or, at least, let someone with an IQ in triple digits have a read before hitting "Submit."

For the record, I'm not management; just another ex-WFT hand who occasionally looks in here with an unhealthy degree of Schadenfruede. I hope the company crashes and burns. I afford them the loyalty and sympathy shown to me.

I might come across as a bit of a c#nt but at least I don't look like a thick c#nt.

Shakes head and leaves.

Could have just said no... Or NOT signed any agreement and then they would have been forced to give you whatever they owe you for termination. If it's 13 years it's 8weeks of pay (that being the maximum for Alberta) you are at the max already, staying around nets you absolutely nothing and actually prevents you from looking for work because if you find something then you lose the 8 weeks.

The only real question is do you actually want to go back and work for them, if not then take the money and run.

If yes, then no sense in belly aching over it. You'll go back after the 59 days to sit around until they actually lay you off because oil prices and Alberta is so messed up its going to be 2018 before things really start picking up again. Sorry for the pessimistic outlook but with that NDP government in place...

Pick up a copy of the Alberta employment standards... WFT has a copy and will use it to whatever advantage they can.

Wow that is so ignorant. I am not surprised. The severance is getting less and less. Sorry to hear this. You are right about how all these over paid managers haven'been laid off and they are making the salary of 3 people while they sit on their asses in alberta canada.

This should be in Alberta Canada. after 59 days layoff you will get your severance.

I bet they are doing that so that you'll find another job and save them the cost of any severance payout. Can you at least get unemployment while you're not working?

Where is that happening? Whats a man to do for 59 days? Thats a kick in the nuts. No work for two months and go broke, and not enough time to work anywhere else until they might call you back. What will happen after 59 days, will the work you for sure or layoff with severence?
