Like you do to your mama, @GdfH5VC-6umj? I heard that she was a failed colossal 250lb effort. When they continue with the flawless execution of these shipments you and your 250lb mama can rot in hell with the rest of the deadwood that you know you are!

It is on YouTube. The ship is the Asia Vision, which is a Chevron LNG ship.

Did anyone see the video of Cheniere Energy shipping the first LNG cargo from US from their Sabine Pass LNG Terminal? Go watch it if you haven't. May be our Gorgon, Wheatstone, Angola LNG project teams should get some tips from them.

Many times international projects will do that because start of production can trigger new fiscal terms with the host government...so start production to get the new terms for all production (not just that project) and then shut down to finish up.

Seems like I remember one of the Deepwater NOJV projects did that a couple of years ago. Got some oil out of the ground to meet an internal deadline and then shut down to make everything right.

The OP doesn't know squat. If mgmt gets a bonus for first cargo by Q1, then I guarantee a cargo load will ship on March 31 at 11:59pm. It might be a very tiny load, but it will ship. Afterwards, the plant will close for six months to facilitate optimizations and allow for application of lessons learned.

@GdfH5VC-1eau, How is it going with this same irrelevant/off-topic rumor that you post in response to everyone else's comment. Why don't you start a thread on it, are you embarrassed that people will find out that you are an idiot talking smack? There have been previous threads discussing lump sum vs annuity at length. Visit them. The annuities are becoming more and more popular, as they are actuarially equal to the lump sump and many will still have their 401k's invested as they wish. Sort of the best of both worlds approach. Retirees lose nothing if only one is offered. Only if the company reduces the value of the only choice which is offered.

@1eau, it's Chevron's prerogative to change or end their pension plan or rules at any time. I think most employees know this. No one will lose out on any part of the pension benefits they have accrued, but definitely the lump sum payout option could be taken away and annuity payments be the only option. There is wide opinion, however that Chevron would prefer its employees to take the lump sum and disappear. Taking the pension as an annuity keeps the monkey on Chevron's back. Chevron must ensure it invests your pension benefit well enough to guarantee the annuity payment for as long as you live (and your spouse if applicable). Paying out a lump sum is a large sum, but removes the liability immediately from Chevron and puts the burden on the ex-employee. Keep in mind that Chevron does not hold your pension money in their general operating funds, it's set aside every month and not touched or available to them to spend.

One big thing to think about is Chevron will no longer offer Lump Sum Pensions. you will get an Annuity every month. and Chevron will keep your millions and be making more money off of it. Then when you die the checks stop and Chevron keeps it all. it is coming next year!

Should not be a surprise to anyone. our flawless execution skills are legendary- they are already writing stories about this which will be mandatory at management schools on how not to do things.

The news is the Train 1 cool down has failed and the leadership team are shitting themselves.

It will be interesting what John has to say at the analyst meeting on 8th March.

Would anyone be surprised? Now they are thinking about Phase II development. What happened to the saying that if you find yourself in a hole, stop digging?
