Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Peter principle at chevron

Sounds familiar?

Rather than seeking to promote a talented "super-competent" junior employee, Peter suggested that an incompetent manager may set them up to fail or dismiss them because they are likely to "violate the first commandment of hierarchical life with incompetent leadership: [namely that] the hierarchy must be preserved".

@GfGtwMc-1jim, The posters on this site with a healthy and fulfilling work ethic thank you for showing your little greedy entitled lazy worthless millennial self and let it be known that you are officially irritated that you have to work for a living in, after all, an industry that supplies a product (hydrocarbons) which you are enslaved and indebted to. After all, said product is the fuel and essential, irreplaceable(in your lifetime) building block of everything that defines your very existence, including your beloved smartphones, PC's TV's and tablets as well as virtually all forms of transportation, including Electric Vehicles and bicycles.

Give it up you greedy middle age middle management pigs.

Oil is not recovering anytime soon.

Go enjoy you half million dollar palace (soon to be underwater mortgage) in the suburbs and spend your pension on viagra while you can still pitch a tent.

p.s. Global warming is real.

Clinton will be the next president.

So grab your ankles and open the vaseline jar while the world enjoys cheap energy for the next 15 years.

You are not going to change anything of any remote significance at Chevron. The stripes on this pussy cat have been there forever. It is a corporate culture thing. Either accept the Chevron corporate culture or move on.

I have seen it happen but I believe this takes place elsewhere too, Chevron not an exception. This is typical corporate politics. More you go up, more you get involved in these. It is a skill to be learned if you want a long tenure anywhere. Or you can job hop every 2-3 years.

Spoken like a true corporate pet. Just cause somebody hires you, it does not mean you have to blindly kiss their ass.

I am with you brother! I am feeling your pain right now. The incompetent leadership stays in charge, while keeping the better qualified on the sidelines by derailing their careers into failure.
