I was an FTE for 11 years and survived nine rounds of lay offs. I was laid off then brought back a few months later as a contractor and have been for several years. Now I am trying to find my way back into the FTE status but it is very, very difficult. Apparently now they want everyone to have a Bachelors degree or better. We have admins with bachelors degrees... and they are contractors... Cisco was ocne a great company and still is, for the most part.
