The ESP server is probably operating in the Philippines these days. Probably no one told the new hire server admin that 5,000 people were going to be looking at jobs on Monday. So the server admin was at home sleeping while the server crashed..... CVX cannot even offshore their IT properly. ITC is a disaster!

Classic CVX failure to execute. Even a simple job search and layoff application! Probably tried to save money recirculating a late 90s-vintage Texaco server from the basement of the Bellaire Office Building. :-)

Did they re-purpose one of Killary's old servers for the job postings? Sure seems like it.

Unfortunately for some, early-career or Horizons being hit hard too. Most Horizons hires in first few years get 2s on their PMP, no matter how proficient or productive they are. Lot of 2s left standing in ESP. The chance of CVX relocating a 2 is slim to none. your boss will try to tell you have a chance if she doesnt like you. The job owners will be polite and thank you for inquiring, but unless you are a 1, they wont try to get you. The funny part is snagging a 1 is just a political reciprocity in the good ole boy system.

Well, @Ggk9ijE-2okc, that's life - welcome to the real world. Just think one day maybe you will have 25 yrs and demand a higher pay. You wouldn't want that though, would you? Wouldn't you just want the same pay as that 3 year person who can do as much or more? No?? didn't think so.

On a different note, who do you think CVX will cut to save costs? Consider yourself fortunate these days if you are modestly compensated.

I know a 27 who makes $275k and does the same work as a 23 who makes $140k in the same group but the 27 has been with the company over 25 years

I am in scope and I am afraid that I may be what they call the "dead wood". Could someone please find me a position at a home for a very needy family with a good fireplace? I would like very much to go out gracefully and at least provide someone with some warmth in the "after-Chevron-life".......................

Agreed. The PSG 25/26 types are the sweet spot. Get rid of those people first.

The PSG 25 and PSG26 are the ones that need to go! They are the ones leading us down a path of destruction.

The inbreeding of management is defined as "the mating of closely related individuals which tends to increase the number of individuals that are homozygous for a trait and therefore increases the appearance of recessive traits"
