Spying, backstabbing, gossiping, jobs for buddies.....
I struggle working with FEs. They are unnecessary middleman adding no technical value and driving our overhead. Even if there is a need for some of them, we don't need them in the astounding numbers we currently have! Seems like low hanging fruit to cut and drive efficiencies.
Hey jsa: you are living in the past. FE's used to do all that. Now they call 3rd party engineering firms who do all that. Out FE's now call themselves "Project Managers". That's why we will cut so many. Don't need all these FE's when 3rd parties are doing all the work.
Its frightening that there are people within the organization who don't know that facility engineers are responsible for the concept work, brown field modifications, design, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning and startup of every piece of equipment from the wing valve to the sales point on every asset we have. Totally frightening that this complete lack of intelligence exists within Chevron and evidence as to why CVX is in such trouble to begin with.
@GhKiJeK-hvd, I don't know what a Chevron Facility Engineer does, but I suspect that they are computer literate and can communicate using clear and concise English. So if a manager had to pick between you and one of them, which one would they pick? You do the math.
Well, it's nice to know CVX is being consistent across all the BU's :)
IT'S REALLY STRANGE THE FOLKS THEY DECIDIED TO KEEP IN & OUT OF SCOPE. THEY ARE PROTECTING THE PEOPLE WHO PROVIDE THE LEAST AMOUNT OF VALUE A.K.A FACILITY ENGINEERS. THEY CAN'T DO THEY OWN JOB, BUT THEY ARE TALKERS. I GUESS TALKING GETS YOU FURTHER THAN TECHNICAL SKILLS.
ROM representatives? Does that mean the people (TL's) who get to make the decisions on which people will go to the slaughter house?
Not much new. 250 people will be fired. They announced the names of the ROM representatives last week. it's pretty quiet in 9525.
