With all the layoffs how long do you think it will take to get hired for a job?

I know someone who was laid off last month and got a job in about 3 weeks in Houston.
I was laid off February 9, 2015 and it took me 6 months. To be honest I only started looking hard about a month before being hired though. The severance and unemployment allowed me to take an extended vacation.
With a stupid question like this probably quite a while.
Depends on what kind of job you are looking for. You can find a job really easy quickly but if you are wanting back in the oilfield it might take awhile.
