Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

The right thing

I wish ConocoPhillips had the decency to announce cuts then carry them out next day like most companies, or if long term knowing is a must by law then please inform individuals in advance so they can make plans to move as there are no jobs in Rockies market.... you lose your job and you will HAVE to move

The irony is that if they cut jobs now they are admitting that the stock is in for a negative growth future and the equity valuations don't support that - by keeping folks around it keep the illusion that there is a recovery.

Hey if anybody believes the recent uptick in prices is good they are sorely mistaken - we are setting ourselves up for a much longer lower for longer scenario.

Lol wrong. I'm better off. I landed within 2 months in December. Similar role, similar pay, different sector. And I got a 1 year severance from cop, so I would consider that a win.

Enjoy working in a zombie company with 0 job security knowing at any moment in time the hammer could fall on you! What a life...

Are you blind? Look at he advance they gave during the march and October layoffs in 2015. No other company gave that much of an advance. Be glad cop does. I got laid off in oct. and the only thing I was thankful for was the fact that they announced there will be mass cuts months before. If they aren't announcing anything now, chances are there won't be any in the short term, so chill you entitled kunt!
