To 1gnb, I never pay too much attention to a person's race or ethnicity. I live my life and choose my own friends and associates based on my own preferences (or inherent bias). That's right, we all have our bias. Nothing wrong with that do long as I don't offend anyone by keeping it private. However, I do mind and make it quite clear when anyone reaches into my pocket without my consent (including the government) to propagate racist initiatives like affirmative action and other social engineering tactics.
I have worked alongside many blacks and minorities throughout my career at Chevron and found most of them respectable and hard working, and became good friends with many. I did not know that there were so many who are closet racists such as the ones posting on this thread. It is obvious that a minority/black is a closet racist if they bring up some archaic reference like "white supremacy" meetings, club, magazine, etc. I am not sure that these things even exist much, or at least it's not prominent enough these days to know about unless you are a racist yourself. It is a general rule that those who cry racism first are most likely to be racists themselves. The rest of us just work & live together day after day without even thinking on those terms.
I am a Chevron retiree who retired with just 17 years of service. My Chevron retiree insurance premium is $563 a month. That makes Obamacare look like a good option. I was laid off at age 59.

@jhq, I agree with you and understand your anger. I felt that way too when I was working for the 40 years and paying lots of taxes. I'm retired now after Chevron tossed me out (for which I know was because of my over 55 age and my higher wages). Nonetheless, I am now retired and have chosen to not seek employment anymore. My attitude has changed about government, the ethics of private business, having any meaningful ability to change the laws, etc. No, I'm not going to stress anymore. I have changed my attitude to looking out exclusively for Number 1, for me. This may sound selfish to many who still work for a living and have to play "the game". I am now engaged entirely on doing what is best for me and willing to now whatever is necessary to be a taker. I will not give anymore. I have done enough of that in my life. I am on Obamacare and enjoying ultra-low premiums. I do whatever is available to me, within the law, to live off the taxpayer for a change. It's not too easy, but since I plan in advance, I'm able to live soooo much better. One day, you will be in my side of the fence and see things from my perspective. Go ahead now and disparage me for my comments and point of view, but I'll tell you I advance, I don't care.

Obamacare does nothing for a retiree with too much income to get any subsidy. (Pension, etc.). I know that you can play the system to lower your reported income, but sometimes that's more trouble than it's worth.
Obamacare is for people to have their health insurance paid for by others who actually work for a living, by design. That's us. People with decent jobs because we paid attention in school, or applied ourselves earlier in life. Therefore, we get to pay for the liberal democrat useless parasite Obamacare leeches. There's nothing free in life. Doctors who devote their entire lives to medicine and go into debt do not OWE you healthcare as a "natural born right" contrary to the belief of common liberal parasites. People work hard and pay for that for the liberal democrat parasites. Those people are us.
