I think layoffs was scheduled for yesterday, but pushed to Friday due to the rainy weather outside, carrying boxes in the rain and all that.
Besides, should anyone be laid off, only a fool would be surprised. Glad to be here and when the ax falls, I'll take it as a man and move on.
