"Big slow sloppy monsters". How accurate, nicely put.
A large portion of the O&G industry is populated by people under 40 yo. They have no industry history or knowledge and they think everyone gets a trophy. These brats are the future of O&G Get use to it.
Now is a good time for the few capable ones left to step out and start your own companies and ditch these big slow sloppy monster companies.

It's not only the oilfield, it's just our turn right now. Ask folks who have been in the following industries for several decades - automotive, aerospace industry, e-businesses, textiles, open-end investing - they have all had their extremely tough times with huge layoffs.
Yep, if you want real job security hire on to a government job, preferably Federal. The CIA was hiring a few months ago...

All the people that got up at 2:30 in the Mornings worked long day's swung Hammers got in late have already been layed off! So just be glad you still have a job! It's the nature of the Business!
