If the deal doesn't go through there may not be any golden parachutes, but any penalty payment will be used to buy back stock which will then in turn be distributed to the leadership team for "a job well done" ...then they all then quit one-by-one.

The deal is dead, and us at Halliburton might have to pay $3.5 billion but we're already clawing that back already. There's little out there but we're winning most of it as the market lost confidence in BHI with all the uncertainty. The takeover was a win - win situation for us here at big red

Way too much $$$$$$ wasted on it already got to happen... Close plants (divest the junk) lay off after lay off. Once craighead and lesar are done the combined companys will be barely be increased in overall size.. Extension after extension on when the deal will hopefully be done.. Is there a cut off point ??!... April will pass then whats the next date...ok it was bad timing because the price of oil & gas or was it? Helps if you can reduce in size due to current climates. And if it helps get this deal done so be it. After its done what customers are going to be left for service companies like halliburton.

When the deal fails you might think that BHI could just continue business as normal, but the leadership team are already committed to dumping the company. "Golden parachutes" will trump core values every time.
