I blame the incompetent directors. So glad that many of them are gone.

"QC Boulder allows executives and high level managers to maintain an office close to the ski slopes during winter. Travel to/from the "office" in Boulder can be expensed and no vacation time taken. I'm surprised QC hasn't opened an "office" in Hawaii." - FLAT OUT LIE. Try again loser!
The Boulder unit was too expensive, and lone wolf'd (e.g. they only did dedicated work). It was cheaper to outsource overseas - the SW unit was totally disposed to Bangalore. The rest of the activities will get outsourced around to globe to cut costs. This will not be the last. The San Jose unit will be next since; #1) the wireless connectivity unit is TOTALLY incompetent to the company's intellect (e.g. it's lead by a very unproductive, incompetent management structure); #2) it's uncooperative with it's business partners; and #3) it CAN'T be competitve with the market (e.g. it will be sold off, like the Broadcom unit.
On the flip side - QC is able to recoup some funds from the sale of the Boulder site.
They should have closed out years ago when the guy that set it up died rock climbing on the Flat Irons.
You mean you haven't heard about the Maui office?
