I am a SME at Chevron in dead wood. We do a complex analysis of each sample using Mass spectrometry alongside other techniques to determine it's level of degradation. After the samples are analyzed we submit the results to upper management and they utilize that data to determine which limbs need to be cut from the tree to keep it healthy.

Chevron as a whole does not support the idea of experts in any field. They move people around and call it development opportunities.
The thing I can't stand about ETC is when they won't admit they don't have the expertise and won't admit that expertise can be bought outside the company (consultants). Instead they load up the hours internally with someone who has a passing interest or might have read something about it in the last 10 years. It is only getting worse as more experts leave the company and the rest run scared for their jobs.

WTF? We only know what we know? This is a blog for vetting Chevron layoffs. With your numbing comments, the cuts need to be much, much deeper.
It will be based on total billable hours with little to no overhead to base business. i.e. Two people working 50% billable by end of year there will only be one.
