Ffs guys, all the HR policies are posted online. http://go/hr

The official policy, at least in the USA, is ONE WEEK for every FULL YEAR OF SERVICE at BHI. Last month, they were giving a minimum of 4 weeks severance to grade 14 and below. I believe grade 15 and above were getting a minimum of 6 or 8 weeks (can't remember).

I'm not aware of any voluntary reduction programs that increase your severance. However, one nice 'perk', if you want to call it that, is BHI pays for 3 months of insurance coverage for laid-off employees. That's a heck of a lot better than most places.

I opted for VRP. Great deal!

The only entitlement is two days severance per year of service (still requires agreement by employee not to take legal action). BHI is currently paying one week per year of service (capped at 26 years) ...but who knows if this will change when the cash runs out.
