It's pretty simple really. Layoff every single engineer that is SR Staff Mgr and above as they are a complete waste of resources. All they do is sit/sleep on back to back meetings of no use and receive status emails.
If all these are gotten rid off and the next highest rank engineer is given the additional role of leading the team some of his work would get distributed to the people that rank below him and this ripple effect will reduce the hidden unemployment problem.
But the sad thing is knowing the culture at Q this would have to be repeated every few years. The current business of Q can be very easily satisfied with 15K people.
And the second major part. Layoff half all the directors and VPs. Way too many of those than are needed.
