As with all things you get what you pay for. If the wages aren't competitive your skilled worker won't be interested in coming to Baker Hughes. But Baker Hughes is so grippy it won't pay top end wages, so it takes on underskilled workers instead at lower wages. But then Baker Hughes won't even spend money to train these folk properly So they make mistakes etc etc which affects the COPQ. Buy cheap buy twice. Pay cheap pay dear in the long run.
No qualifications to do the job? Then why did BoD hire us? If there were 'good' people around why didn't they apply for the jobs? And if they did, why did us 'unqualified' people get the job instead? These are the questions you should be asking management and HR. Job adverts should state the minimum qualification and experience required, and if BoD takes on less experienced or qualified persons then it is up to BoD to spend time and money on properly training them. It all comes down to money.

I'm utterly embarrassed by what I read on here about BOD.
Not only does the backstabbing highlight how nasty people are, the level of English is absolutely atrocious. I'm amazed any of you managed to pass an aptitude test. Even minimum wage workers have a higher intelligence.
Most of you don't even have any qualifications to do the job you are paid very well for doing. Leave and let good people take your job. We will easily survive without you.

Betty is the proverbial icing on the cake. Her door is always open and she is so sympathetic. I was talking to her today about my narcolepsy. She gave me spectacles with an open eye painted on each lens. She said she would try to get me on the night shift, but until then keep wearing the spectacles.

It's true, and our foremen - well how lucky are we to have the best of the best ? Always looking out for us, watching our backs and sticking up for when the management complain about quality and customer complaints. I'm just surprised they are still with us.
It's true. As you walk through the workshop everyone smiles, wishes you a good day and offers to help you. Nothing seems too much trouble. Everyone is willing to go that extra mile to help get the job done, on time and right first time. I've never worked anywhere else like it.

Its true. The cameraderie here is second to none. Nobody in their right mind ever leaves this place. I put it down to us getting lucky with our management team. I read posts from other places who are not so lucky and I justcount my blessings.
It's true. I've worked at other shops but nothing compares to BoD.
