You just received a VSP, an ISP or an ERP and you worry about taking it or getting rehired. Really? The company you work for just told you that you are not wanted and to GTFO. And you want to stay there? I would get rid of you just because you are obviously crazy.

"Many people had a vision of retiring from Intel after putting in many years. Being handed ISP or VSP a couple of years short of this goal just sucks for them."
Precisely. Intel is not in financial straights, so this whole SCREW YOU bolt from the blue comes as a complete surprise. But its all about getting rid of higher paid employees so BK and his lackeys on the BOD can get a much bigger bonus. Short term profits ya know!
Op is right. No need to stay where I am not wanted. 27 months from retirement I VSP'd so fast it would make your head spin. The retirement is sh--. Just get out and get another job. Will miss some people but most can kiss my ass Good luck out there. I've got two phone interviews this week. Sell your house at the top of the market and move on like me.
Got the VSP, six months shy of rule 75. I'm too numb to be mad, but it's coming.
My org is first class with the greatest people I've ever known. It's the top execs that have no vision, no morals, no values, no ethics, nothing but highly overpaid assassins.

@guf agree 100%
Skills you built with intel are not intel specific. You would be surprised how universal they are. Only your attitude is intel specific.
Heard one that got her ISP revoked. Came back afterwards. Without knowing her status, that is exactly what I thought.
